I had Explorer for about 8 years. The storage space was great for hauling things, roomy for napping on long road trips and not bad on gas mileage.

I always wanted a Jeep or a VW convertible because they just seemed so cool for communing with nature, next to a motorcycle, of course. You know, I had to pass because I live in Miami — not sure how safe I’d be from thieves and bad drivers and I had that Black woman don’t wanna get my hair messed up thing going on.

Perhaps you should send this post to the Jeep folks, it would make a great commercial.

Congrats on the new camera. I assume these are upcoming travels you’re planning for? I hope you’ll be blogging from the road. I just love armchair travel!

1. I like the Exploer too, but for me, the only reason I can justify having an SUV (at least for the next week) is if it’s a Jeep. It’s the only SUV with character and longevity.

2. Yeah, I think I also technically wasn’t allowed to rent the Uhaul with the Jeep (being topless). Oops. For anyone from Uhaul corporate reading, I’m really sorry about that. I didn’t mean to confuse you guys by picking up the trailer with my buddies Pathfinder. My bad.

3. Removal/replacement of parts is THE absolute BEST part about owning a Jeep. It’s like growing facial hair - every day you can do something dfferent.

“What do I want today? Full beard? Goatee? Nahhh. Okay, handlebar moustache it is!”
