I have seen the very same scenes in Venezuela for the past 10 years. Street protests, stone throwing, tear gas, dead civilians, general strikes, tires burning, civil disobedience, chaos…and yet, Mr. (Monkey) Chavez still in power.
The reality (in most cases) is that the side who controls the armed forces will prevail.
The protestors have little chance to succeed unless they get some sort of “outside” help, meaning weapons. A Hypothetical intervention to which I strongly disagree.
My thoughts are with all of those who desire a MUCH needed change in Iran. But the change has to come from within…otherwise it will lack of legitimacy, a much needed ingredient for stability.
