Anoushka Shankar – The Future Mrs. “Bowl of Stupid”

Published by A Bowl Of Stupid at 10:44 am under Arts & Entertainment,Music

Wow. I, like most people, am completely disgusted with myself — albeit most likely for wholly different reasons. For all my ranting and raving about how anglo-centric Americans are, I myself have neglected much of the artistic talent coming from other areas of the world. As such, for some ungodly reason, I’ve never heard (or simply never paid attention to) Anoushka Shankar.

She is an Indian sitar player and composer from the United Kingdom, and the daughter of the famous Indian sitar player, Ravi Shankar. Through her father, she is also the half-sister of Grammy winner Norah Jones. She is, quite simply, amazing. Take a listen to the following piece she played at a concert called “Concert for George”, held at the Royal Albert Hall in London on November 18, 2003 as a memorial to George Harrison on the second anniversary of his death.

Stunningly beautiful. Incredibly talented. Oh yes, she will be mine.

She is a very captivating performer. I didn’t know she Nora Jones’ sister. Oh Daddy must of had musical talent oozing from his DNA code.

    Be safe…

I’ve known about her for at east the last 5 years. Dude if you would have gotten anywhere outside of Miami then whole world would open up to you. Miami is void of culture unless you are rolling in money and are spending it. It is the play ground of the stars, rich, and famous (another Vegas) for god sakes. So what does that tell you. A good thing you crawled out from under that Miami rock and left.
